5 New Lakorn I Want To Watch This Year 2017

Usually, I often don't see these type  (these certain genres or stories) of lakorns being subbed because most tend to go towards the general romance genre. I can understand, but it would be great to see these subbed in the future because they are truly a great story. There's one lakorn which I haven't seen before, but I would like to see it.

1. Sarb Dok Soi / สาปดอกสร้อย / 风车花的诅咒 / Curse of Windmill Flower (2017)

(I think it's referring to the main character's name Dok Soi. I haven't seen this one before, not sure if it's a remake.)

I'm quite a horror fan, so I'm also one of those who likes to watch lots of Thai horror movies. For some reason, I feel that Thailand always tend to make the best horror movies with good plot lines. Most of the horror lakorn are quite good to watch too. I read the storyline at Sharerice that it was about a young girl who was possessed by a ghost who kills humans. The main girl falls in love with the policeman (main guy), but conflicts occurs when the spirit that resides in her body killed his father. This lakorn is already airing.

Needless to say, I am up to sub this lakorn if anyone picks up this lakorn. I'll volunteer to help out for sure! :) - (This doesn't mean that I'm going to sub this lakorn, but if anyone is translating it, I will help them out for sure. Let me know who is subbing and I'll volunteer.)

2. Wang Nang Hong / วังนางโหง / 王夫人的鬼魂

This is another horror lakorn. Yes. I love my horror movies. :)

(The storyline can be inaccurate.)
I read that this one was about the main guy and his family's curse.  In the main guy's past life, he and the ghost were both lovers, but the ghost thought he killed her. She was a dancer in the past.

A doctor (main girl) comes into their home to find out the main guy's younger sister's sickness. The longer she comes into their haunted mansion, she also comes to learn what the family's curse was about. The curse is that they would have to sacrifice a girl to the ghost.

Either way it looks like a good story I want to watch. :)

3. Rachinee Morlum / ราชินีหมอลำ / 摩罗歌后/ Queen of Morlum (Remake 2017)

I've seen this lakorn when I was younger in a dub version. This new version already started airing. I was scanning through it, but it tends to go a in a faster pace and a bit different than the old version.

This lakorn was about the main girl and her parents who were very poor whom lived in the countryside of Thailand. They were always being threaten by debt collector gangs. One day the gang collector was beating up the father so much in the head that he eventually went blind. The mother made a decision to go to Bangkok in search for a better job to help make more money, and left the family with a friend who was willing to help her very much.

The young girl later went to Bangkok in search of her mom a couple years later when she was all grown up, but she have forgotten how her mother looks like. The mother don't know how her daughters look like either. Throughout all those years the mom was away, she became a famous Morlum singer. "Morlum" is a style of Thai country music. Unable to find her mother, she had the opportunity to become a famous Morlum singer to help find her mother with the help of the main guy, who she later end up with.

4. Mae Ai Sae Eun / แม่อายสะอื้น / 迟来的忏悔 / Belated Repentance (Remake 2017)

I've seen the old version back when I was younger in a dub version too. This lakorn is quite sad, and a story that I often don't see, which is why I liked it very much.  It was truly a great and sad lakorn. It's been a long time, so I don't remember how the story actually went, but it went something like this.

It was about the main girl who was an innocent person good at sword dancing, and always made her father very proud at that. She often perform sword dancing for the general. One day she decided to go Bangkok with a person she knows to make more money. Her father was going blind, and so she need to make money.

When she went to Bangkok, she arrived in a hotel with that friend (I think it was her friend), not knowing that it was a brothel. Her friend tricked and drugged her to be a prostitute. She tried to forget about after that night, but was convinced to stay to get more money for her father's eye treatment.

One night, she saw the main guy at the brothel she's working at drunked, and she always liked him. They saw each other a couple times throughout the lakorn, and she knew him well, but he didn't know her much. They slept together. As the story goes on, she eventually had his baby, and became a famous model in Thailand. Then both of them started dating, and then there were people that hated her, and tried to expose of her past of being a prostitute. Her younger sister also tried to convince the main girl to tell everything as well.

This show was truly a great lakorn, and very different than the usual lakorn I usually see. I guess this lakorn was a top hit, and now they are remaking it. I'm so glad. :)

5. Buang Bajanthorn / บ่วงบรรจถรณ์/ 魔法床 / Enchanted Bed (Remake 2017)

I've seen this lakorn when I was young too. I watched it both in dub, and someone made english subtitles for this show too.

Unlike other lakorn I've seen, this fantasy fiction lakorn takes place in a historically-based setting. After the main girl's father passed away, he left her his home. Inside the home, there was an bed that was kept away, and not being used because of past situations. The main girl took and used the old bed, but she started dreaming as she was in this place... in Myammar.

Throughout the lakorn, she founds out that the bed was enchanted and lets her travel to the past. In the past is where she meets the guy she loves, while in reality, her ex tries to get back with her. He thought she was crazy for sleeping all the time, and tries to stop her to keep sleeping on the bed.

It's a really good story. I love it a lot, and I'm so glad they are finally remaking it. :)
